The Outspoken Overspoken Richard Dawkins

Many people, from brilliant scientists to those with childlike faith, have viewed the wonder of Creation and concluded that there is a Creator. Scientific evidence supporting God as the Creator abounds. The Bible says this about atheists, “that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made,” (Romans 1:18-32)

Richard Dawkins is an outspoken critic of the Creator of the Universe and those that are blessed with the faith to believe in Him. Dawkins, using science and reason as his platform, speaks out vehemently and distortedly on a subject that he plainly knows little of – God. The reach of many of his statements seem lacking in intellectual integrity.

Dawkins needs to stick to what he knows best and drop his poisoned agenda. From many of his statements, it would seem that Richard Dawkins life goal is to slander those of us that have intellectually pursued the truths of Christianity and the scientific evidence proving the Universe is created by God. Many of his statements, though outlandish, are widely dispersed. I have taken the liberty of rewriting a few of Dawkins more famous quotes and making them my own. In doing this, I have just as much intellectual right and authority to make my claims as he does in making his. And, feel free to quote me on these.

If taken out of context and not studied judiciously, the God of the Old Testament may appear to be the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. However, diligent study proves otherwise. The God of the Old Testament is the same as the God of the New Testament, loving, gracious, slow to anger, merciful, and seeking our good in all circumstances.”  – Allen Burns (response to Dawkins: The God Delusion)

I am against the pursuit of science without regard for the Creator because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world as it exists beyond atoms and molecules. – Allen Burns

Science without regard for the Creator teaches the dangerous nonsense that death is the end. – Allen Burns (response to Dawkins “Religion’s Misguided Missiles,” September 15, 2001)

Science is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate all the evidence. Science often concludes statements as truth in spite of, even perhaps because of, the evidence for the existence of God and Jesus Christ. (response to Dawkins Untitled Lecture, Edinburgh Science Festival, 1992)

Science is powerful enough to immunize people against all appeals to pity, to forgiveness, to decent human feelings. It even immunizes them against truth. – Allen Burns (response to Dawkins The Selfish Gene)

It is fashionable to wax apocalyptic about the threat to humanity posed by the AIDS virus, “mad cow” disease, and many others, but I think a case can be made that the pursuit of science without regard to the Creator is one of the world’s great evils, comparable to the smallpox virus but harder to eradicate. (response to Dawkins The Humanist, Volume 57, Number 1)

Please pray that the Sovereign God of the Universe have mercy on those that oppose His glory.
