Our Children’s ministry exists to assist parents in bringing up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. We do not assume the role of the parent, but come along side them in providing teaching and resources that will reinforce what is being taught in the home. We deeply love our children here at CCC and desire to teach them to:
- Fear and love God above all things (Prov. 1:7, Matt 22:37)
- Respect and obey God’s Word (Eph 6:1-3, Joshua 1:8-9)
- Honor and obey their parents in all things (Eph 6:1-3)
- Love and serve others (Matt 22:38, Mark 10:45).
Children’s Sunday School – 9:15-10:15 am
Through Children’s Sunday School, children receive caring ministry and accurate teaching from God’s Word.
Place: The children meet together at 9:15 am and then break up into three classes:
- Ages 4-5
- Grades 1-3
- Grades 4-6
Generations of Grace is biblically based. Each child will be in a particular class for three years. The first year, he (or, she) will study the books of Genesis through Numbers. The second year, he will study Deuteronomy through Daniel. The third year he will study the life of Christ from the Gospels as well as lessons from Acts and Revelation.
Generations of Grace is God-centered. We want to help children have a right understanding of God. The teaching is not intended merely to ‘educate’ or ‘inform.’ We want to help children to know God, love Him, and serve Him.
Generations of Grace is a help to parents to fulfill their God-given responsibilities. God gives parents the responsibility to train their children in the Scriptures (Deuteronomy 6:1-9). Sunday School teachers should not teach the Scriptures instead of the parents. It is our intention to have Sunday School teachers come alongside parents to assist them in fulfilling their responsibility.
Junior Church – Every other Sunday during the sermon
On many Sundays (not all) we provide parents with the option of having their children attend Junior Church during the sermon. During Junior Church, lessons from the Sunday School curriculum are reinforced (Children who have not attended Sunday School that day will have no problem following along and learning).
On Sundays when Junior Church is offered, children will leave just before the sermon. The children will sit with their parents during the announcements, singing, offering, etc. After the service, parents should go directly to the Junior Church room to pick up their children.
Note: Many parents want their children to remain in the service to hear the sermon. Though the children may not understand everything that is taught in the sermon, they will understand some and will hopefully gain a desire to learn more and more. We acknowledge these benefits, and we are happy to allow parents to make this decision.
Nursery – During Sunday Morning Bible Fellowship and Worship Service
Your children will be in a safe place in our nursery. Our nursery is well-staffed and clean. The nursery is available on Sunday mornings during Bible Fellowship and Sunday morning worship.
