MAIN IDEA: Endeavor to love all people as the means to fulfill the righteous requirements of the Law.

Introduction: The Great Collision

The Book of Romans and the Law

1)            We are judged by the Law (Romans 2:12-16)

2)            No flesh is justified by doing the works of the Law (Romans 3:19-20)

3)            The Law brings wrath; not the promises of Abraham (Romans 4:13-15)

4)            The Law increases sin (Romans 5:20-21)

5)            We are not under Law but grace (Romans 6:14)

6)            Being under grace, we still should not sin (Romans 6:15)

7)            We are dead to the Law and joined to Christ (Romans 7:4-5)

8)            We are released from the Law so we may serve in the Spirit (Romans 7:6)

9)            The Law is not sin (Romans 7:7)

10)          The law of the Spirit of life has set us free from the Law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2)

11)          The requirement of the Law is fulfilled in us who walk according to the Spirit (Romans 8:3-4)

12)          Christ is the end (goal) of the Law (Romans 10:4)

The Book of Romans and Love

1)            God pours out His love in our hearts (Romans 5:5)

2)            Christs’ death is proof of God’s love toward us (Romans 5:8)

3)            God works all things for good for those who love/called by God (Romans 8:28)

4)            Nothing can separate us from Christs’ love (Romans 8:35-37)

5)            God’s love is an electing love (Romans 9:13)

6)            Love genuinely (Romans 12:9)

7)            Lovingly fulfill the law (Romans 13:8-10)
