Levi is a follower of Jesus. He knows that Jesus is worth forsaking everything. Jesus is a cause for celebration. Levi invites people to his home to be with Jesus because Levi knows that Jesus heals those who repent. Those who are with Jesus love Him and are devoted to Him as a bride is to her Husband. Levi and all those who follow Jesus know that following Him means being given a new life. The old things pass away and the new things have come.
Contentment in Christ
Are you content with Jesus? Do you feel as though your life is complete because your eyes have seen Jesus? We have not seen Jesus in the flesh, but we know in our heart of God’s salvation.
We can chase after things of this world. Or we can be content to have what Christ gives us. Content with holiness.
Jesus is the way. Are we content with the way? Jesus is the truth. Are we content with knowing the truth? Are we content with the life Jesus gives, or are we looking for more in this world.
A song that has meant much to me is, “I’d rather have Jesus.”
I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold I'd rather be his than have riches untold
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land
Yes I'd rather be led by his nail pierced hands
Than to be the king of a vast domain and be held in sins dread sway
I'd rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today
The Apostle Paul says it well. He says:
But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. (Philippians 3:7)
Grace Evidenced
At the end of the age, believers like Bonnie, will who walk the highway of holiness, rejoicing in their salvation. The trees of the field clap their hands, and the mountains and the hills break forth with joy as they walk by. They are people blessed by God.
Call upon God while He is near. Ask Him to show you your heart. Ask Him to help you be sure that you are a genuine believer who gives evidence of His work of grace. Trust in God and you will not be disappointed!
